Aliyah Boston, A'ja Wilson Named to WNBA All-Star Game
Few schools in the country produce as much talent in the WNBA than South Carolina has over the past few years. This year's WNBA All-Star Game will proudly boast two former Gamecocks, A'ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston, both of which have earned All-Star honors this season.
Wilson has been one of the best scorers this year, ranking eighth in the WNBA in PPG with 19.3 points per game. She has excelled at both sides of the court this year, adding 9.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks a game. Wilson's excellent play this season has helped guide the Las Vegas Aces to a league-best 12-1 record. After winning her second MVP award last season, Wilson has continued to be one of the most dominant players in the world.
As expected, the first overall pick in this year's draft has gotten off to a hot start at the professional level. Like Wilson, Boston has been excellent on both sides of the court, which was expected for the two-time Naismith Defensive Player of the Year. Boston has averaged 15.6 points per game, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game, an incredible start to her career for the young rookie.
The many former Gamecocks have continued to dominate the WNBA, a testament to Dawn Staley and South Carolina's excellence as a program.
