South Carolina's Women's Basketball program is undergoing significant change this offseason, and there's no stronger piece of evidence regarding this notion than the overhaul the Gamecocks are enduring with their roster. Seven seniors have walked out the door, including Aliyah Boston, Zia Cooke, Brea Beal, Laeticia Amihere and Victaria Saxton, all of whom were selected in the WNBA Draft this past Monday night.

Before that night took place, however, South Carolina's program also suffered a shakeup on their coaching staff, as long-time assistant coach Fred Chmiel, who had been a part of the program since 2015, took the head coaching at Bowling Green, a move that was officially announced this past Saturday. Since then, things have been quiet regarding the coaching search, but that of course doesn't mean Dawn Staley hasn't been making moves in silence. As a matter of fact, it seems as if it's been the exact opposite based on the reporting of Stephen Wiseman of The News & Observer, who said on Thursday morning that Duke Associate Head Coach Winston Gandy not only has resigned from his position, but is expected to join the Gamecocks coaching staff.

The move could be one that makes the Gamecocks' activity in the transfer portal much more intriguing, as the Duke Blue Devils have already seen two starters from last season in Celeste Taylor and Shayeann Day-Wilson. Both players could quickly become potential targets should this move officially take place between South Carolina and Winston Gandy.
