It is worth noting that Anthony Gill, Justin Minaya, and Erik Stevenson all transferred out of South Carolina, yet they have contributed significantly to Gamecock basketball. In contrast, Brian Bowen II, a five-star McDonald's All-American, and MJ Classic MVP, did not play a game at Carolina due to an NCAA suspension. However, he credits the University of South Carolina and former head coach Frank Martin for his development, which has led to his NBA career. It should also be noted that Justin Minaya and Erik Stevenson are graduates of the University of South Carolina.

Former Denver Nugget G/F P. J. Dozier is currently experiencing great success overseas. After recovering from injuries that sidelined him in the NBA, he has been going viral almost weekly for his performances with KK Partizan and the positive atmosphere surrounding him. The former McDonald's All-American could potentially make a return to the league in the near future.
