BREAKING: Laeticia Amihere Drafted Eighth Overall By The Atlanta Dream
Laeticia Amihere might've not been a starter during her career at South Carolina, but her contributions for Dawn Staley's squad over the last four years shouldn't go unnoticed. Amihere is a player who possesses the ability to guard anybody on the floor from the paint all the way out to the perimeter, and was a burst of energy for the Gamecocks off the bench, running the floor in transition and helping to stress defenses throughout the course of the game.
Amihere's defensive versatility and high motor on the offensive end made her an intriguing prospect for multiple WNBA teams, and for the Atlanta Dream, Laeticia's skillset was far too good to pass up, as they took her with the Eighth overall pick in the first round of the 2023 WNBA Draft.
She's the second Gamecock to be selected in the WNBA Draft, with fellow teammate Aliyah Boston being drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever.
