Lamont Paris Named Semifinalist For Naismith Men's College Coach Of The Year Award
South Carolina's men's basketball coach Lamont Paris has made the latest cut for a national award.
Lamont Paris had earned both materialistic and monetary recognition for his performance as South Carolina's head men's basketball coach this season, earning SEC Coach of the Year nods via the conference's other coaches and the Associated Press, and earning a contract extension through the 2029-30 season that'll pay him an average of $4.375 million annually. On Friday afternoon, the accolades continue to pour in for Paris, who's been named one of ten semifinalists for the Naismith Men's College Coach of the Year award.
Lamont has led the Gamecocks to national prominence this season with Carolina breaking the school record for most regular season wins in one season (25), and tying the school record for the most total wins in one season (26). South Carolina will have a chance to break that record later this afternoon against the Auburn Tigers.
