College Gameday Making Appearance At SEC WBB Tournament
The South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team secured the outright No. 1 seed in the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament this past Thursday night with their victory over the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville and found out after their final regular season matchup on Sunday what the final tournament bracket looks like.
Due to their performance in the regular season, South Carolina will receive a double-bye to the quarterfinals alongside SEC counterparts in Ole Miss, LSU, and Tennessee. The potential Championship Sunday matchup possibilities have caught the attention of the worldwide leader in sports.
ESPN had been debating internally on which women's basketball conference tournament they wanted to go to, but decided on Sunday afternoon, announcing that they'll be heading to Greenville for the SEC tournament title bout.
If hypothetically speaking, South Carolina made it to Championship Sunday. They could wind up in a rematch against either the second-best team in the SEC, LSU, or the second most prestigious program in all of the women's college basketball, the Tennessee Volunteers, making it obvious why ESPN's College Gameday picked the SEC tournament.
