Head Coach Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks headed into Colonial Life Arena for tonight's game, looking to keep their winning streak alive after two challenging away games. While South Carolina wasn't taking the opponent lightly, this was a game they wanted to establish their dominance and do what they do well. While the turnovers were still a slight issue, they were efficient on both sides of the ball in their blowout win over Morgan State to remain undefeated.

The Story of the first half was South Carolina's efficiency on offense. Not only were they able to make over 65% of their shots in the first half, but they also limited their turnovers and spread the ball exceptionally well with 12 assists. This excellent offensive performance saw the Gamecocks go on a 43-6 run that started in the first quarter with just over five minutes remaining and continued into halftime.

The Gamecocks continued their dominance throughout the remainder of the game. They seemingly couldn't miss from behind the arch, making three straight and starting the second half on a 9-0 run. Chloe Kitts had a much better second half, leading the team with seven rebounds and finishing the game with 7 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists. Tessa Johnson, a freshman, also had an Amazing match, leading the team with 16 points (7-9 shooting).

Dawn Staley will hit the road and travel to compete in the Hall of Fame Women's Showcase against 11th-ranked Utah, who is currently 7-1 on the season. Utah will be the fourth team ranked in the AP top 25 this season, and the Gamecocks are currently 3-0 in those games, have averaged 93 points per game, and have won those games by an average of nearly 25 points.
