When a team is in the midst of a 'back against the wall' kind of moment like South Carolina's Football team is right now, you need to lean on a few different groups of people to pull everyone through to the other side: the coaching staff, the star players, and your leaders in the locker room. One player who's already helped in that regard in super senior running back Dakereon Joyner who, while not possessing the on-field role he started the season with, has helped the young guys navigate this tough stretch, using his own experiences from his college career.

On Saturday, however, Joyner won't be able to fulfill that role, as he was ruled OUT for the Vanderbilt game during Shane Beamer's weekly Tuesday press conference due to the lower-body injury he suffered last weekend against Jacksonville State; Joyner joins offensive lineman Trai Jones as far as guys who've been officially ruled out for this week. Tight end Trey Knox also remains questionable, but did a few things in practice today, per head coach Shane Beamer.
