Jonathan Paylor Sets Tentative Commitment Date
Few recruits in the class of 2024 have become a higher priority for the Gamecocks than Jonathan Paylor. The young wide receiver wrapped his official visit with South Carolina this weekend and had some promising words for the Gamecocks.
During a conversation with Sports Talk South Carolina, Paylor explained where South Carolina stands after his time in Columbia. The North Carolina native explained that Shane Beamer and the coaching staff did everything right on his visit and have only expanded on the lead the team enjoyed before. The visit reportedly "turned a different page" for Paylor, offering optimism the team has locked up the four-star ATH.
During the conversation, Paylor also explained his plans for the rest of his recruitment. The pass-catcher said he would be releasing his top five soon, followed by his commitment which he has set tentatively for July 28th. Though nothing is finalized, South Carolina feels confident in where they stand with him.
With Paylor wrapping up his OVs with South Carolina, it seems the Gamecocks are only in competition with North Carolina State, who welcomed Paylor earlier this month. South Carolina has to keep the pressure on as we near the end of July if they went to maintain their top position in Paylor's recruitment.
