BREAKING: Markee Anderson To Have Season-Ending Surgery
The South Carolina Gamecocks brought in one of the best offensive line classes in the country back in the 2023 recruiting cycle. It's a group that's already beginning to bear fruit for this staff, as freshmen Tree Babalade and Trovon Baugh have seen significant action over the past couple of games, with Babalade, in particular, getting his first career start against the Georgia Bulldogs this past Saturday.
The perceived crown jewel, however, of that aforementioned group won't be seeing the field this Fall, as during his weekly teleconference call with the media on Sunday evening, head coach Shane Beamer told the media that Markee Anderson is set to have season-ending surgery on one of his knees. Anderson was rated as a consensus four-star prospect and the 161st best prospect in the country for his class.
Anderson joins Jaylen Nichols and Cason Henry on the injury list, with Henry set to miss another week due to his injury he suffered against North Carolina and Nichols of course still working his way back from the left knee injury he suffered in the Spring game back in April.
