Beamer Gives Injury Update On Juice Wells, Nyckoles Harbor
For the past couple of weeks, Gamecock fans have been on the edge of their seat regarding the health status of two prominent names at the wide receiver position: Juice Wells and Nyck Harbor. Juice has been the one people have inquired about the most due to his stature as the biggest skill weapon for South Carolina's offense this Fall.
On Monday afternoon, the Gamecocks released a depth chart that listed Juice Wells as a starter at wideout and Nyck Harbor as a backup with no "OR" attached to either name. Shane Beamer, at his weekly Tuesday press conference, confirmed what the depth chart seemed to indicate.
"I would say that [Jatius] Geer, Bam [Martin-Scott], and Connor Cox are questionable. Everybody else is good to go. Nyck Harbor practiced today; Juice Wells practiced today. [I] have no issues with those guys, [and] fully expect to see them on Saturday night."
Beamer then went on to detail how Juice began getting back in the swing of things on Monday, relating his workout to a scene from a sports movie that Wells didn't even know.
"[Juice] got out there [and] did a little bit of work with the training room yesterday. He was out there with a couple of our strength coaches, and one of our trainers, and myself just kinda watching him do some things yesterday, and told him it was like the movie The Natural - where Roy Hobbs gets out the hospital and goes and takes batting practice in the stadium at night where nobody can really see him just to see if he's healthy, and that's what it seemed like with Juice yesterday."
