REPORT: Gamecock WR Coach James Coley Expected To Take Same Role At Georgia
There's been plenty of turnover with South Carolina's football staff over the past month and a half, as Shane Beamer as brought on four new coaches, three amongst the offensive staff and one at his special teams coordinator role. Outside of perhaps Shawn Elliott, the hire that had drawn the most praise was the hiring of WR coach James Coley, who had worked with Beamer at Georgia several years back and was expected to significantly boost the Gamecocks recruiting efforts at wide receiver.
Based on a report from 247Sports Matt Zenitz on Saturday afternoon, it appears that Carolina fans will never know what Coley could've done with that position group, as Georgia is expected to hire him as their new wide receivers coach after Bryan McClendon took an NFL job earlier this month. Shane will now have to go back on the coaching market for a new wide receivers coach with just a few weeks remaining before Spring ball gets underway in March.
