LOOK: Gamecock Signee Nyckoles Harbor Wins 100-Meter Dash In Puma ECI Showcase
South Carolina Football signee Nyckoles Harbor is considered by a bevy of national analysts to be one of the best pure athletes to comes out of the high school ranks in the past several years. Harbor will be continuing his career on the gridiron at South Carolina, but has also spoken about his aspirations to one day run in the olympics.
The 6'5, 225 pound Washington, D.C. native doesn't possess the prototypical frame of most sprinters, which is what makes his feats on the track so impressive. Harbor's accomplishments in track and field have lead to him receiving several invites to different events, including the Puma East Coast International Showcase this past weekend.
At this event, Harbor participated in the 100-meter dash, an event that's the ultimate test of both sheer speed and continuous acceleration. Nyckoles not only displayed his unfathomable ability to increase his pace as he neared the finish line, something that's rare amongst most sprinters, but he also managed to comeback and finish in first place.
His unreal athleticism is why so many South Carolina Gamecock fans are excited to watch Harbor in the Fall, as he will be lining up as a wide receiver in Dowell Loggains offense. While his technique at the position itself will need some refinement, it'll be difficult to keep Nyckoles off the field with the literal track speed he possesses at his size.
