Former Gamecock DL D'Andre Martin Finds A New Home
South Carolina's Football program has lost several players to the transfer portal over the past few weeks. One of those who entered the portal was defensive lineman D'Andre Martin, who left with three years of eligibility remaining. After entering the portal back on December 9th, it appears Martin has found a landing spot, as he announced on Monday afternoon that he was committed to the Charlotte 49ers.
In two seasons in Columbia, Martin appeared in four total games, and recorded the lone tackle of his Gamecock career against the Vanderbilt Commodores back in week eleven of the 2023 season. With D"Andre being from Durham, NC, this serves as a homecoming for the 2022 three-star defensive line prospect.
