It seems like it was just yesterday when Spencer Rattler broke the internet overnight and announced that he was transferring to South Carolina, a move that no one in the college football world saw coming. Fast forward almost two years later, and, while the journey hasn't always been smooth sailing, it appears the Arizona native has no regrets about his time in Columbia.

"It means the world. I mean [from] being a brand new dude, [and] coming to a [new] school last year, you know that that was my goal. Come in, give 110% of this program to my team, to my coaches, and yeah, that's all I really wanted to do. Everything else will take care of itself with how the fans look at me. I'm so appreciative for the fan base, coaches, team, everything. It means the world. You know, this month is huge for us because we wanted to finish out and leave a mark on history here. You know, we didn't start good, but you know, it'd be pretty special in the month of November to get four wins and get to a bowl game; that'd be awesome. So that's my, that's my focus, that's my goal."

When asked about his thoughts on players' freedoms in transferring to a new program, Spencer said he believes it's great and called his decision to come to Columbia "one of the best decisions of [his] life." Rattler will be one of twenty Gamecock upperclassmen who will walk during the senior day ceremonies on Saturday before he plays what many assume will be the final home game of his college career. No matter what happens this weekend, the atmosphere that was created in every home game he played in garnet and black threads will never be lost on the future NFL quarterback.

"It's been awesome. I mean, we got the best home environment in the country. I think the best fan base. You know, they're so hyped every game throughout all four quarters. If it's a tight game, doesn't matter what your record is; it's awesome to see them show up and show out. So we're going to need that from them again Saturday. It's just a blessing playing in that venue, and [I] never take it for granted."
