BREAKING: Gamecocks Will Be Down An OL Starter When They Play Missouri
South Carolina's Football team loses yet another offensive lineman due to injury but will see two other starters play after getting banged up against Florida.
Here's the latest injury report from South Carolina Football coach Shane Beamer on his weekly Carolina Calls radio show ahead of the Gamecocks week eight matchup with the Missouri Tigers:
Missouri Injury Report
- Vershon Lee - OUT: After getting rolled up late in the first half against the Florida Gators last Saturday, the veteran lineman won't be able to play this weekend against the Tigers. The staff initially thought that it was gonna be 4-6 week recovery process, but Beamer stated that Lee will likely miss two weeks, with his return date set for the Jacksonville State game.
- RB Mario Anderson Jr. - WILL PLAY: After dealing with an ankle injury last weekend, the fifth-year back will be good to go against the Missouri Tigers on Saturday
- LB Stone Blanton - WILL PLAY: Did a little bit more in practice as the week progressed according to Beamer.
Shane Beamer also said that they're closer to having offensive lineman Cason Henry back in the fold. The staff was optimistic on Tuesday that he might be able to play this week, but that won't be the case.
