Multiple Offensive Starters "Fine" Coming Off Recent Injuries
It seems like a weekly occurrence at this point in the 2023 season for South Carolina Football fans, but there are more injuries to discuss, including some that weren't listed this past week. Let's start with another offensive lineman in Trai Jones, who left the game against Texas A&M with a lower body injury.
Per Shane Beamer's Sunday night teleconference comments, he would be shocked if Jones plays this week, but didn't completely rule it out in terms of using any technicalities regarding his recovery timeline. After getting banged up in the Missouri contest two Saturdays ago, Tree Babalade entered the game against the Aggies, played valiantly, and is fine for this week. Trovon Baugh is also good after managing to start in College Station yesterday afternoon.
Two offensive linemen who remain questionable to start this week are Cason Henry, who hasn't played since week one, and Vershon Lee who hasn't played since the Gamecocks' last home game against the Florida Gators. There is some more good news to end the report, as wide receiver Xavier Legette, who suffered an upper-body injury against Missouri, and got an ankle rolled up against the Aggies, should be fine for this week, according to South Carolina's third-year head man.
