South Carolina has had an excellent start to the 2024 recruiting class. They landed four four-star commits since the end of the regular season, and another top target will come off the board in less than a week.

Offensive guard Blake Franks is a major target for the coaching staff. Franks attends Greenville High School, just ninety minutes from Williams-Brice Stadium. He is one of the state's top players, and would join in-state commits Kam Pringle and Mazeo Bennett in the class if he committed. Greenville head coach Greg Porter confirmed we won't have to wait long to wonder; Franks has made his decision and will announce on February 20. The three finalists are South Carolina, Clemson, and Auburn.

Carolina has been trending for Franks for a couple weeks now. Before that, he was a heavy Clemson lean, with many thinking he was a lock. However, the Gamecocks worked on Franks very hard and had help from Pringle.

Pringle is the No. 1 tackle in the nation and had a decision similar to Franks': weighing between two in-state schools and a fellow SEC team. If Franks picks South Carolina, he will move inside to play guard but will remain at right tackle if he picks in-state rivals Clemson or Auburn as well.
