Four-Star Edge Rusher Cuts Down His Recruitment

Four-star edge rusher Booker Pickett has narrowed down his list to nine schools.

Edge rusher Booker Pickett recently narrowed his list down to nine schools. The top 50 prospect from Tampa, Florida, is down to South Carolina, SoCal, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, and Florida State. Picket is an elite talent who has racked up over 60 sacks in his first three years, including 30 as a junior.

Booker took a visit to South Carolina back on June 25, and this was his only visit that is on record with South Carolina. Despite only taking one visit to Columbia, he included the Gamecocks in his top schools, a good sign that his relationship with head coach Shane Beamer and outside linebackers coach Sterling Lucas.

South Carolina has recruited the 2024 class exceptionally well for their standards. They have a top-five class on some recruiting sites, with five commits to date, all of which are four-star pledges. They have landed four of those commits since the season ended, a reflection on how South Carolina closed the season.
