LOOK: WR Target Braylon Staley Wears Gamecock Gear In Recent HS Game
Regarding modern-day high school recruitments, social media is all the rage. It allows fans to directly interact with their school's top targets and simultaneously go after the fans of other schools. It also makes some people hinge on everything these prospects post and do, especially if it indicates a certain may be the favorite in their recruitment.
The hard part sometimes is deciphering what posts/actions are created/done to elicit a reaction and which ones have true meaning behind them. In the case of South Carolina WR target Braylon Staley, who was offered on Wednesday, what he did on Friday night is certainly noteworthy.
In an interview that has circulated on social media, Braylon Staley was talking with Movin' The Chains, a media group that covers High School Football in South Carolina. In the video, you can clearly make out a Gamecock wristband on Staley's left forearm, and it's also been stated that he wore Gamecock gloves, but no photos/videos have circulated verifying that to be true.
Obviously, we can't make too much out of this, but with this game coming two days after receiving an offer from South Carolina, and the fact that Gamecock receivers coach Justin Stepp was in attendance, along with some Tennessee coaches by the way, there's no question Shane Beamer & Co. are in contention here. We'll see how things play out from here, but this has to increase the confidence on Carolina's side that they have a real chance to keep Staley home.
