The 2026 wide receiver class in South Carolina is looking quite deep, as at least five wide receiver prospects have already received offers from Power 4 schools. Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks' staff sent out a trio of offers to in-state wideouts in the past two weeks, and one of those offers went to Ridge View product Jordon Gidron.

Having grown up in Columbia as a Carolina fan, Jordon was "really excited and surprised to get the offer from USC." His primary recruiter, Gamecock wide receivers coach Justin Stepp, has strong connections to the Palmetto state and has already developed a rapport with Gidron on the few visits he's made so far. Stepp was so impressed with the rising junior's skills during a camp last Summer that he did something with Jordon that rarely happens.

"When I camped last summer, he moved me up to work with the upperclassman, which was great," Gidron recalled.

Justin and South Carolina tight ends coach Jody Wright recently told Jordon that they liked his film from his sophomore season and encouraged him to keep working as he could play at the SEC level. Gidron does not lack for confidence in his game, as he explained to me in our conversation this morning.

"I'm a fast, explosive player, a good route runner, and I track the ball well to complete the catch. I grew up playing running back, so I'm used to contact and use my strength to break tackles and get yards after catch," Jordon told me.

Being so close to campus already, Gidron has made several short trips to check out the program and was most recently there for the Gamecocks' matchup against Mississippi State on September 23rd. We're far from signing day for the 2026 class, but Jordon is a wide receiver prospect to watch moving forward for Carolina fans.
