Columbia, South Carolina, has become a frequent destination for many elite football recruits looking to visit with the Gamecocks. Though the visit schedule is busy throughout the spring practices, the team continues to fit in more visitors, including four-star ATH Kamron Mikell, who joins a crowded group of Saturday visitors that includes multiple high-priority guys such as David Sanders and Blake Franks

Mikell, a Statesboro, Georgia resident, is the 33rd-ranked athlete in 2024 class. Though he was used primarily as a running back on offense this past season, rushing for over 1000 yards and five touchdowns, Mikell also threw for 465 yards and seven touchdowns at the quarterback position. While the current expectation is that Mikell will be a defensive back moving forward, his versatility on the football field makes him an asset to any coach.

He's also just as versatile off the football field, as he won two bronze medals in the 100 and 200-meter dashes at Georgia's state championships in his sophomore year. He also started on his high school's basketball team as a sophomore. Kam's tantalizing athleticism has garnered attention from numerous top programs nationwide, as he boasts offers from Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State, Texas A&M, and many more schools.

It's easy to see why Shane Beamer and his staff are staying in touch with the Peach State native, and visits like these will help them keep their foot in the proverbial door in Kam's recruitment.
