2025 Edge Defender Plans Visit to South Carolina
Shane Beamer's calendar is flooded with visits from top recruits over the next two months, and it keeps getting more crowded. Though most players visiting the campus are 2024 prospects, according to his Twitter, 2025 EDGE Anthony Addison will take a trip to Columbia on March 18th this coming weekend.
The 6-4 EDGE from Sumter, South Carolina, has flown under the radar as a prospect, with South Carolina being the first SEC team to contact him. Though he is just 215 pounds, Addison frequently lined up as the nose tackle due to his brute strength, which combined with a long wingspan, makes him a viable run-stopper.
The young sophomore has also displayed incredible speed and instincts, allowing him to break free at the line of scrimmage and meet the quarterback in the backfield. His talents as a pass rusher allow his high school to rush just three or four guys consistently and still maintain pressure.
Though Addison is still just a sophomore, and he's received limited attention to this point, he is a name to watch. If he continues to grow and fill out his frame, the South Carolina resident could develop into an All-SEC caliber player.Β
