INTEL: 2026 Landon Duckworth Talks Upcoming Visit To South Carolina
The last time South Carolina Gamecock commit and 2026 four-star quarterback prospect Landon Duckworth was in Columbia was for the program's annual Summer cookout in late July of last year. I recently caught up with Landon when he was at the Under Armour Camp in Atlanta last weekend, and when I asked him about the next time he'll be back in the Palmetto state, Duckworth answered,
"I'll be in Columbia for the Spring Game," he said.
Duckworth is currently ranked as the 49th-best overall prospect and the 3rd-best quarterback in the 2026 class, per 247 Sports; he has been a hard commit for South Carolina since last August.
Regarding his camp performance, the Alabama native indicated that it was a good experience overall.
"My performance Sunday was alright, another day to rep & get better at my craft," he said. "I'm always confident in myself and what I do. So I moreso found out how I match up with some of the top guys in the nation that [were] out there with me," he added.
Seen wearing the Gamecocks towel this past Sunday, the rising junior made eye-catching throws. He not only showed off the cannon of an arm he has, but he also displayed plenty of touch on a pass to fellow Alabama native Carson Gill (WR/TE). However, what's most impressive about Landon is the way he can throw the football with such precision from uncanny arm slots. Mix that with his athleticism, and it's no surprise why Shane Beamer and his staff offered Duckworth as a freshman.
A dual-sport athlete, Duckworth was supposed to be back in action with his high school basketball team this weekend in Atlanta, but instead, he will be with his team for a final four appearance for a bid at the AHSSA title game. The Jackson Aggies are 28-2 heading into the final four, and Duckworth is averaging 7.5 points per game.
