2024 Punter Mason Love has committed to special teams coach Pete Lembo and the Gamecocks. The five-star punter picked the Gamecocks over offers from Cal-Berkeley, Navy, Army, Air Force, Arkansas State, and had interest from Florida, Kansas State, and Iowa State.

Ranked as the No. 4 punter in the nation by Kohl's kicking rankings, he joins five-star kicker commit Peyton Argent in the class to add to already the best special-teams unit in college football led by the best special-teams coach in America, Pete Lambo, and head coach Shane Beamer, who has a strong special-team background being the son of Frank Beamer, for whom they invited the name Beamer Ball because of his team's unique style of play that involved a lot of special team trick plays.

Mason is the expected replacement for all-American punter Kai Kroeger, who played a key role for the Gamecocks, putting the opposing team close to their own end zone.

Kai Kroeger hit a 79-yard punt last year and passed the ball four times for 107 yards and two touchdowns, so it was important for the Gamecocks to get an elite punter like Mason Love to replace the weapon in Kai Kroeger.

the Gamecocks are reloading on talent on the special team’s unit, so Gamecocks fans should be ready to enjoy the magic of Beamer Ball and the new nickname given by fans, Lembo Ball, for years to come.
