Gamecock Commits In The South Carolina State Playoffs: Round 2
Shane Beamer and his coaching staff at South Carolina have made it a point to nail recruiting within the Palmetto State's borders, and those efforts have paid great dividends in the 2024 class. If you question just how good their in-state haul was in this calendar year, look no further than the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) Playoffs, where several future Gamecocks and their teams are suiting up.
Their 'last ride' with their teammates began last week, and for the majority of these commits, they'll have a chance to continue their own November to remember later tonight across different classifications. Here are those Carolina commits and their team's respective matchups
Prospects (Respective Schools) & Second Round SCHSL Playoff Opponents
Josiah Thompson (Dillon): vs North Charleston (Class 3A Lower State Quarterfinals)
Kam Pringle (Woodland): at Oceanside Collegiate Academy (Class 2A Lower State Quarterfinals)
Mazeo Bennett & Blake Franks (Greenville): at Greer (Class 4A Upper State Quarterfinals)
Unfortunately, one Gamecock commit has been knocked out of the State playoffs, as four-star safety Kelvin Hunter and his West Florence Knights lost to Lucy Beckham High School 37-7.
