2025 Four-Star PF Hayden Assemian from Legacy Early in Greenville, SC, committed to the Gamecocks on Tuesday afternoon over schools like Wake Forest, George Mason, and Appalachian State. Assemian also drew interest from Clemson.

The 6 foot 8 220, pound power forward plays AAU ball with team CP3, a team owned by Chris Paul that has a deep history of professional alumni and recently was the AAU team of the highest-ranked Gamecock player of all time in GG Jackson, who was drafted out of South Carolina to the Memphis Grizzlies this past Summer. Hayden is a versatile player who can play anywhere from the small forward to the center position, and that's something that head coach Lamont Paris loves about his game, along with how hard he plays.

For Lamont, getting in-state talent like this is crucial for the rebuilding going on in Columbia for a program that has struggled over the years to keep its top talent in-state, star players like Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, Josiah-Jordan James, and in more recent years, guys like John Butler. With this being such a big problem for the Gamecocks, the biggest challenge coming in for Lamont was to create relationships and keep guys home. In just one year as the head man in Columbia, South Carolina, he has landed seven players from the state of South Carolina and recently landed another top player in four-star PF Collin Murray-Boyles, who's a Columbia native.

The Gamecocks will try to stay hot on the recruiting trail in this 2025 class with four-star PG Eli Ellis, who just took an OV to South Carolina this past weekend, along with Hayden.
