South Carolina Releases Numbers For MBB Newcomers
Heading into his second season in Columbia, South Carolina Men's Basketball coach Lamont Paris is looking to improve on an inaugural campaign filled with some bright spots and valiant performances, but also contests where the Gamecocks were outmatched from start to finish. This offseason, South Carolina witnessed a mass exodus of their roster, with GG Jackson moving onto the NBA, Hayden Brown exhausting his eligibility, and a plethora of players transferring to new schools.
With the nine additions that Lamont has brought in, there's a quiet feeling that the Gamecocks have a much deeper roster than they had one year ago. On Thursday morning, the program announced the official numbers for each of their players, including all of the guys who arrived this offseason.
Here are the numbers for each of the newcomers:
Wofford Transfer BJ Mack: No. 2
Citadel Transfer Stephen Clark: No. 4
High School Enrollee Morris Ugusuk: No. 15
Walk-On Danny Grajzl: No. 20
High School Enrollee Arden Conyers: No. 21
Vanderbilt Transfer Myles Stute: No. 10
High School Enrollee Austin Herro: No. 13
High School Enrollee Collin Murray-Boyles: No. 30
Minnesota Transfer Ta'Lon Cooper: No. 55
With their proven experience against Power 6 competition BJ Mack, Myles Stute, and Ta'Lon Cooper are all expected to likely start and contribute heavily for a Gamecock squad that's looking to take the next step this Winter.
