The 2024 class is one that could help Lamont Paris, and his staff take South Carolina's Men's Basketball program to the next level, and they've made the latest cut for one of their targets. Through Joe Tipton of On3 Sports, Bishop Boswell, a 2024 guard from Charlotte, NC, announced his top six schools on Friday: South Carolina, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Georgia, Xavier, and Missouri.

The Gamecocks are one of the newer teams on the block for Bishop, who has already visited four of his six finalists, with South Carolina and Tennessee waiting for their turn to host Bishop Boswell. Lamont Paris sent out an offer to Bishop right before the Peach Jam tournament, where he had some tremendous performances and earned offers from Mississippi State, LSU, and Tennessee.

One thing that could help the Gamecocks in this recruitment is the Charlotte, NC connection, with Charlotte being only an hour and a half away from the University of South Carolina. With how prevalent South Carolina fans are in Charlotte, many claim it to be Gamecock territory, and many coaches at the school recruit Charlotte kids like they are from the state of South Carolina.

One thing to keep an eye on with this recruitment is that Bishop is a teammate of 2025 five-star power forward Sadiq White Jr., who has received an offer from South Carolina and took an unofficial visit to Columbia on January 29th of this year. Sadiq plays AAU ball with Team United, the same AAU team as five-star shooting guards Cam Scott from Lexington, SC, who is the top priority for the Gamecocks in the class of 2024.

Also on Team United is 2024 combo guard Jaxon Prunty, who is also from Lexington, SC, and has been someone that the staff has been keeping an eye on. A commitment from a guy like Bishop Boswell doesn't guarantee a commitment from anyone, but it could help them with recruiting momentum for players like Sadiq White Jr., Cam Scott, or Jaxon Prunty.
