Nicolai Brooks Announces His Commitment Date
The South Carolina Gamecocks have obliterated most of their opponents in the 2024 recruiting cycle. There hasn't been more evidence to prove this notion than what Shane Beamer and Co. have done on the offensive line. Before even reaching the month of May, offensive line coach Lonnie Teasley and the rest of the staff have landed Kam Pringle, Josiah Thompson, Blake Franks, and Mike Williams.
This success has allowed the program to get a head start on recruiting national-level offensive line prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. One of those targets is Georgia native Nicolai Brooks. Brooks visited Columbia back on March 25th and then followed up this by including South Carolina in his Top 10 he released back on April 10th. It appears that since that time, Brooks has gained clarity on where he may want to play college ball, announcing on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon that he'll be making his decision on May 1st.
The Gamecocks should be viewed as a least a contender heading into the decision. However, industry experts are leaning towards the Iowa Hawkeyes in terms of naming a frontrunner, likely due to their storied history of developing the offensive line.
