LOOK: Notre Dame Transfer RB Logan Diggs Currently Visiting South Carolina
South Carolina's Football program is getting closer and closer to having fully flipped the roster from what it looked like when Shane Beamer took over back in December of 2020, which was a roster that had NFL talent but not enough depth at the majority of the positions. Due to certain players exhausting their eligibility and multiple others entering the transfer portal, certain spots have been left in a bind this offseason, including the running back position.
While the Gamecocks have publicly pursued a couple of backs that have gone elsewhere, there's still some backs in the portal that could help round out South Carolina's running back room, and one of those backs is Notre Dame's Logan Diggs. Diggs ironically enough faced off against South Carolina in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl and rushed for 90 yards on 13 carries, averaging 6.9 yards per carry.
It's already been reported that Diggs had visited Ole Miss on Friday, and he took to Instagram to show that he made the quick trip over to Columbia to check out South Carolina's Football program.
It seems like this could turn into a massive SEC heavyweight fight for the rising junior running back from Boutte, LA, who's also reportedly being pursued by the SEC Western Division Champions from 2022 in the LSU Tigers. Diggs rushed for 820 total yards last Fall, scoring four touchdowns on the ground while also adding 211 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.
