Elijah Griffin Named No. 2 Overall Prospect In On3's First 2025 Ranking
One of the most coveted players in the class of 2025, Elijah Griffin, is prominently slotted near the top of On3's initial 2025 rankings, with the Georiga native ranking as the second-best player in the country, thus making him a five-star.
Griffin has quickly emerged as one of South Carolina's highest-priority recruits in the class of 2025, a premise that On3 agrees with, as they currently give South Carolina a 35.9 percent chance to land Griffin, the highest out of any school. Standing at 6-4 270 pounds, Griffin is a prototype tackle with above-average athleticism. His strength, speed, and bend at the attack point make him a solid run-defender with elite pass-rusher upside.
Under Head Coach Shane Beamer, the Gamecocks have secured more national prospects compared to years past. Commitments from standouts Kam Pringle and Nyckoles Harbor are impressive, but landing the second-best player in the country would be transcendent for the program and a prominent feather in Shane Beamer's proverbial cap. Considering the increasing prominence of South Carolina as a recruiting powerhouse, it comes as no surprise to see them heavily in the game for blue-chip prospects like Elijah Griffin.
