Gamecocks Offer Son Of Former All-Pro NFL Linebacker
When it comes to evaluating high school football prospects, major college football programs want to check off multiple boxes before they dispense an offer. Sometimes, however, it's sensible to offer a prospect even if a coaching staff hasn't gone through the entirety of their usual process.
That seems to be the case with 2026 linebacker Thomas Davis Jr., the son of former All-Pro linebacker Thomas Davis Sr., who played college ball at Georgia before playing sixteen seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Carolina Panthers. The younger Davis received an offer from South Carolina on Thursday morning, and took the great news to social media.
Thomas has received fourteen offers to this point in the process, with the other Power 4 offers coming from Georgia Tech, Indiana, Wake Forest, Miami (FL), Tennessee, Auburn, NC State, North Carolina, Boston College, and Virginia Tech. The Weddington product is rated the 67th best prospect in the country for the 2026 class, according to 247Sports Composite.
