Gamecocks Add Productive Linebacker In Bangally Kamara
In his final year of eligibility, the senior linebacker has chosen to play for the South Carolina Gamecocks in the SEC, marking a significant addition to the team's linebacker room. This comes on the heels of the recent acquisitions of former Georgia Tech and Charlotte linebacker Demetrius Knight, who had an exceptionally productive year.
The Gamecocks faced a setback with the departure of MLB Stone Blanton and Grayson "Pup" Howard, both of whom confirmed they would be staying in the SEC. However, the team swiftly bounced back, doubling their production with the inclusion of these two new players.
Adding to the defensive prowess, Bangally Kamara brings an impressive track record from his time at Pitt:
- Solo tackles: 57
- Assists: 61
- Total tackles: 118
- Tackles for loss: 10.5
- Sacks: 4.0
- Interceptions: 1
- Passes defended: 8
Kamara becomes the third player from Pittsburgh to join the Gamecocks this offseason. Alongside him are defensive tackle DeAndre Jules, a four-star transfer prospect, and former three-star safety Buddy Mack III, a native of Duncan, SC, who joined as a walk-on.
It appears South Carolina has established a pipeline into Pitt, securing key talents to strengthen their team. With these recent additions, the Gamecocks' linebacker room has transformed from decent to absolutely formidable, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
