Stanford's four athletes with the highest NIL Valuations
Over the past couple years college sports have been turned upside down by two things. One, the implementation of the transfer portal and one-time transfer rule allowing athletes to transfer and be immediately eligible if it's their first time. Secondly, the passing of the rule that allows for athletes to profit off their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).
While most people thought it would only benefit the best football players, some athletes have gotten very creative in their opportunities. NIL has become a major tool in recruiting high school athletes, and has also been a major tool in retaining athletes to your roster as we have seen an epidemic of players leaving their program for NIL reasons.
While some schools like USC, Texas A&M, and Alabama are known for NIL others like Stanford are often overlooked in this space. It is something that the boosters are working on, but there are still athletes that have figured out how to maximize their value.
Let's take a look at who On3 currently has as the athletes with the highest NIL Valuation, which is their estimation of an athlete's NIL earnings.
4. David Bailey, EDGE
On3 Nil Valuation: $121K
The future of Stanford's defensive line, David Bailey is one of the few gifts that Troy Taylor inherited from the previous regime. Bobby April III is expected to be able to help Bailey flourish as he did with Wisconsin's Nick Herbig who led the Big Ten in sacks a year ago.
Benjamin Yurosek, Tight End
On3 Nil Valuation: $201K
Arguably the most important move of Troy Taylor's young tenure was convincing tight end Benjamin Yurosek to return. He is widely viewed as one of the best tight ends in the entire country, and while the Cardinal have inexperienced quarterbacks he could have his best year yet in an offense that heavily utilizes tight ends.
Cameron Brink, Forward
On3 Nil Valuation: $206K
Cameron Brink is one of the best players in all of college basketball on both ends of the floor, and on top of being an NCAA champion she recently won gold in the FIBA 3X3 World Cup. She is looking to lead Stanford back to the promise land after what was an underwhelming season.
Thunder Keck, EDGE
On3 Nil Valuation: $451
The sixth-year senior is a prime example of someone taking advantage of being able to profit off his NIL. Despite totaling just 12 career tackles, Keck has over a million followers combined on his social media platforms, and makes various kinds of content about off the field topics.
