The Stanford football program is headed in a new direction under Troy Taylor

When Troy Taylor was hired as the head coach of Stanford he made it clear that he was hoping to give this program the love and attention it deserved.

In his first full season, he has assembled a recruiting class that is right on the cusp of the top 25, the program has gotten into the NIL space, unveiled new uniform combos, and he has also shown a willingness to use the transfer portal which has become a major tool in college football. On top of that, he is also looking to develop a roster that was among the most inexperienced in the country.

After their final game of the season on Saturday which saw them lose to Notre Dame, Taylor addressed what's next for the Cardinal. On top of adding to his recruiting class and divining into the portal, the program is due for some renovations. Taylor revealed that the weight room is expected to get some much-needed love.

"Got some exciting things coming," said Taylor."Three million dollar - facelift to our weight room that'll start immediately which is incredible. Great support from our university and leadership."

On top of helping the players on the field, a new weight room will certainly help the program in recruiting as having more modern amenities is always a plus.

In terms of recruiting, Stanford has the No. 27 class in the country according to 247Sports headlined by four-star quarterback Elijah Brown. And, while the team finished 3-9 this season, it is clear that Taylor is looking to generate more investment from the school and fans into the program that was once a dominant force on the West Coast.
