Stanford Guaranteed To Produce A Super Bowl Winner After 49ers and Chiefs Win

The Stanford Cardinal will be represented by both teams in the upcoming Super Bowl
In this story:

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs dominated the Baltimore Ravens in their 17-10 win in the AFC Championship and will be heading to Las Vegas to play in the Super Bowl.

A few hours later, it was the San Francisco 49ers that clinched their spot in the Super Bowl after they came back from down 24-7 to win the NFC Championship. Led by Christian McCaffrey's two touchdowns, the 49ers ended up winning by a score of 34-31 in a game that saw the Lions start strong and leave haunted by their own aggressiveness.

With both of those teams winning, it means that Stanford will have at least one player winning a ring regardless of what happens. Safety Justin Reid has been a catalyst for this Chiefs' defense, and on Sunday he made his presence felt. He finished the game with four total tackles and a sack. Through three playoff games, he has 18 total tackles and one sack.

On February 11, he may end up meeting up with Christian McCaffrey, as the 49ers running back has had a tremendous year.

In the 49ers' win over the Lions, McCaffrey finished with 90 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the ground, while also adding four catches for 42 yards.  In their two playoff games, he has rushed for 188 yards on 5.1 yards per carry, and four touchdowns. He also has 11 catches for 72 yards through the air.

While someone is bound to get their heart broken, at least one Cardinal will walk away with a ring.

It is also worth noting that former Stanford linebacker Curtis Robinson is on San Francisco's practice squad, and was elevated to the active roster prior to their game against the Lions.
