Stanford Catcher Malcolm Moore Among The Preseason Favorites For The 2024 Golden Spikes Award
The Stanford baseball team lost a total of 10 players who were starters in the field or key pitchers, but they do return arguably the best catcher in the country.
Sophomore backstop Malcolm Moore is coming off a first season of college baseball that saw him named Freshman All-American while hitting .311 on the year, and belting 15 home runs and 63 RBI. While he is on the younger side, he has emerged as a leader for this Stanford team and is looking to make a run to Omaha for the fourth straight year.
On top of being one of the premier players out West, he has also emerged as one of the betting favorites for the 2024 Golden Spikes Award.
According to odds recently released by FanDuel, Florida's Jac Caglianone (+450) is the betting favorite, but Moore does come in as having the seventh-highest odds at +1600.
