BREAKING: Stanford star Cameron Brink declares for the WNBA Draft
After keeping the door open for a possible return during Stanford's senior day festivities.
The senior forward who does have another year of eligibility revealed she was "undecided" on whether or not she would declare following Stanford's victory over Arizona State. On Tuesday, the projected No. 2 overall pick announced that she will not be returning to Stanford, and will in fact be declaring for the WNBA Draft.
Brink, who was recently named Pac-12 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, will look to lead Stanford to a second title during her career. Regardless of the outcome of this season, she will leave Stanford as one of the most decorated players in program history, winning the Pac-12 four times, being named All-Pac-12 four times, Pac-12 Player of the Year twice, and holding the record for career blocks.
While Stanford recently just lost the Pac-12 Tournament Final to USC, the Cardinal are still expected to secure a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, or at worst a No. 2 seed.
The Cardinal are awaiting the Selection Sunday results, which takes place on March 17.
