Aggies' Schlossnagle to Receive Turn It Gold Bold Award
On Wednesday, it was announced that Aggies baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle will be this year's recipient of the Bold Award given out by the Turn It Gold organization.
Schlossnagle will be presented the award at the Turn It Gold gala in Houston on Jan. 27 at the Ryal Sonesta Hotel. The coach was selected because of his commitment to childhood cancer research and activism.
The upcoming season will be the third year that Aggies baseball has teamed up with Turn It Gold, and A&M has raised over $30,000 over the past two seasons for the cause. A&M baseball will host a Turn It Gold weekend at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park this year.
The Turn It Gold Foundation is an advocate for youth who cannot fight for themselves in the pursuit of raising childhood cancer awareness and generating action through online storytelling, events and media. The goal is to increase the percentage of dollars put into childhood cancer research in the pursuit of a cure.
