Texas A&M Aggies Down Ohio State Buckeyes 73-66 For Second Consecutive Win

The Aggies won their second game of the season in as many tries on Friday night with a 73-66 tilt over the Ohio State Buckeyes at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

Coming off of an opening night 78-46 victory over Texas A&M-Commerce on Monday, Texas A&M kept its momentum alive against the Buckeyes for a modest two-game winning streak to start the season.

Led by senior guard, Tyrece Radford, who had 11 points and two assists on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc at halftime, the Aggies held on to a 33-32 lead at the break.

The Buckeyes had three players with eight points at the half, as forward Jamison Battle and guards Bruce Thornton and Roddy Gayle Jr. kept Ohio State close.

The two sides exchanged buckets out of the break without breaking away as the game stayed close throughout.

Zed Key tied the game at 51 for the Buckeyes at the 9:09 mark of the second half, but the Aggies held a 61-56 lead after the final media timeout at 3:55.

Texas A&M matched its biggest lead of the game to that point at 66-60 with 1:51 left. But the Aggies' offense was too much as they held on for the 73-66 win.

The Aggies were led by Radford and guard Wade Taylor IV, who poured in 21 points each, while forward Henry Coleman dropped 20. Forward Andersson Garcia pulled in 13 rebounds, while Coleman III grabbed 11. Taylor IV led with four assists on the night.

Thornton led all scorers with 24, while Gayle Jr. and Key pulled down seven rebounds each.

The Aggies will try and extend their winning streak to three against the SMU Mustangs inside Moody Coliseum in Dallas on Tuesday night.
