Aggies Men's Hoops Falls to LSU 68-53 in SEC Opener

The Aggies fell to the LSU Tigers on Saturday 68-53 inside Reed Arena in College Station as both teams tipped off their SEC schedule. Texas A&M falls to 9-5 on the young season while the Tigers improve to 9-5 and begin undefeated in league play.

It was a close game at the half, with the Aggies leading 32-30, but LSU outscored Texas A&M 38-21 in the second frame to walk away with the win. Once again, the Aggies were plagued by poor shooting, making only 25.4 percent of their field goals to LSU's 40.3. Both teams struggled from beyond the arc, with A&M shooting just 17.9 percent on 5-of-28, while the Tigers hardly did better at 25.0 percent on 6-of-24.

LSU out-rebounded A&M 46-40.

The winning Tigers were led by 20 points from Jordan Wright who also pulled down 10 rebounds for the double-double. Guard Jalen Cook was the only other Tiger in double figures with 13 points.

Texas A&M Ends Losing Streak With Blow Out of Houston Christian

Wade Taylor IV had a team-high 23 points for the Aggies to go along with six rebounds and six steals. Tyrece Radford chipped in 11 points and another six rebounds.
