Following a rough two-game stretch in which the dropped back-to-back games vs. Memphis and Houston, the Texas A&M Aggies entered Friday's matchup with Houston Christian, looking for a pallet cleanser.

And after a huge first half, and taking care of business down the stretch, that's exactly what they got, blowing out the Huskies 79-52 at Reed Arena in College Station.

Senior guard Hayden Hefner led the way for the Aggies, scoring 24 points and hitting seven of 14 from the field, including 3 of 8 from beyond the arc.

The Aggies also had two other players in double figures, with Wade Taylor IV and Jace Carter each scoring 10 points a piece.

That said, despite the 27-point difference in the score, it wasn't the best night for the Aggies offensively, with the team shooting just 34.4 percent from the field and 25.9 percent from three. They also left 10 points off the board by hitting just 28 of 38 free throw attempts.

The Huskies weren't much better, however, hitting just 33.3 percent from the field and 26.1 percent from three.

The Aggies were able to dominate the boards and the turnover battle by significant margins, however, which proved to be too much for the Huskies to overcome.

Following the win, the Aggies now move to 8-4 on the season, heading into their final non-conference game of the season vs. Prairie View A&M before SEC play begins vs. LSU on Jan 6.

The Aggies and Panthers will tip off at 6 pm on Dec. 30 from Reed Arena.
