The Texas A&M Aggies suffered a frustrating loss on Saturday to the Ole Miss Rebels, falling to 5-4 on the season.

And in crunch time of that loss, the Aggies were without one of their best players in defensive end Shemar Turner, who was ejected after an altercation with Ole Miss offensive lineman, Micah Pettus.

Following the loss, Turner took to Twitter to issue an apology.

"I want to apologize for embarrassing myself, my family, and my team! My actions were unacceptable and stupid," Turner tweeted. "I have to understand what teams are gonna try to do to get me out [of] my game. I let my emotions get the best of me, won’t happen again."

The play came in the second half Ole Miss leading 28-21

Turner, who had been blocked to the ground by Pettus took his frustration out on the play, delivering an uppercut jab to Micah Pettus' groin area.

The Rebels would score on the ensuing play with a 6-yard touchdown run from Quinshon Judkins, making it a 14-point game. The Aggies would go on to lose 38-35.

Turner had already had a major impact on the game as well, blocking a field goal that Jacoby Mathews picked up and ran in for the Aggies' first touchdown of the game.

Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher also discussed the loss of Turner, calling it 'a shame', but sticking up for the character of his player as well.

"We can’t lose our cool," Fisher said. "He is a great player and a great young man, and he'll learn from that. We’ll make sure we get him right because he's got a great future in the game, and it's a shame."
