Texas A&M receiver Evan Stewart is out for Saturday’s matchup against Louisiana-Monroe with an undisclosed injury.

Stewart, one of the top weapons for Bobby Petrino’s offense, was seen on the sidelines in his jersey during pregame warmups.

A former five-star from Liberty Frisco (Texas), Stewart has blossomed into one of A&M’s most consistent playmakers and a security blanket for sophomore Conner Weigman on the outside. In last week’s 48-33 loss to Miami, the 6-1 sophomore totaled a team-high 11 catches for 142 yards.

Stewart leads A&M in receptions (19) and receiving yards (257). He also caught two touchdowns in Week 1’s 52-10 win over New Mexico.

Receiver is one of A&M's more potent positions entering Week 3. Noah Thomas has emerged as the new No. 2 target following his three-touchdown performance against the Lobos. Fifth-year receiver Ainias Smith remains a stalwart in the slot.

Junior Moose Muhammad will likely replace Stewart on the perimeter after mixing in with the first-team offense through two weeks. Muhammad caught a 7-yard touchdown from Max Johnson in the fourth quarter against New Mexico. He also nabbed a first down last week against the Hurricanes on a 15-yard comeback route.

A&M (1-1) could debut four-star prospect Micah Tease, who was seen working out during warmups. Tease, a native of Oklahoma, was arrested last month on charges of possession of a controlled substance and a separate charge of less than two ounces of marijuana. He was suspended internally by the program for the season-opener and did not play last week at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Aggies are scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m., though Kyle Field is under a weather watch due to lightning.
