A Pair of Aggies Land On PFF's 2024 NFL Draft Watch List
Aside from the hole left from 2022 First Team All-SEC running back De'Von Achane, the Texas A&M Aggies will get a lot of their returning production from last season back in 2023, but two caught the eye of Pro Football Focus' Max Chadwick.
Chadwick named center Bryce Foster and safety Demani Richardson as one of 10 players at their respective positions to watch for the 2024 NFL Draft, saying the former could "very easily be the top center in this class."
"Foster played only four games this past season before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He wasn’t very impressive on those limited snaps, earning just a 22.0 pass-blocking grade," Chadwick wrote. "It’s what Foster did as a true freshman that earned him a spot on this list. Playing in the toughest conference in college football, he started all 13 games at center for Texas A&M. He was a PFF Freshman All-American and led all true freshmen centers with a 73.0 run-blocking grade."
Richardson is entering his fifth season as the Aggies' starting safety and his production has been steady across the previous four, missing just three games since 2019.
Aside from the COVID-19-shortened season where Richardson played in eight of the Aggies' 10 games, he has recorded at least 65 tackles in each of his other three years in College Station.
In 2022, Richardson had a career-high 73 tackles, 2.5 for loss, one interception, a career-high five pass break-ups and recovered the first fumble of his career — a scoop-and-score that marked the turning point in the Aggies' 38-23 upset of LSU last season.
"Over the past two years, the senior’s 29 run-defense stops are tied for ninth among Power Five safeties, while his 18 coverage stops are tied for fourth," Chadwick wrote.
