Texas A&M Aggies vs. LSU Tigers Kickoff Time, TV Information Announced

The Aggies will kickoff early in Baton Rouge to close out the regular season.

COLLEGE STATION -- And then, there was the grand finale.

Texas A&M will travel to Baton Rouge to take No. 15 LSU on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m., the SEC announced Monday. The game will air on ESPN. The Aggies clinched bowl eligibility Saturday night in a 51-10 win over Mississippi State at Kyle Field.

The Aggies (6-4, 4-3 SEC) have claimed three of the last five meetings with LSU, including a 38-23 victory over the then-No. 6 Tigers in the season finale at Kyle Field a year ago. The Aggies also won in 2020, 20-7, en route to a 9-1 finish.

The Tigers (7-3, 5-2) were expected to be one of the top contenders in the SEC after winning the west division under first-year coach Brian Kelly last. A season-opening loss to Florida State put the Tigers behind the sticks, and road losses to Ole Miss and Alabama knocked them out of conference contention.

LSU features one of the more dynamic offenses in the country behind quarterback Jayden Daniels. Considered a favorite to win the coveted Heisman Trophy, Daniels is coming off his best performance of the regular season against Florida, where he totaled 606 yards of offense and five touchdowns in a 52-35 win.

The Aggies will be without head coach Jimbo Fisher, who was dismissed from the program Sunday following their win over the Bulldogs. Fisher, who took over for Kevin Sumlin in Dec. 2017, was at one point considered the favorite to replace Ed Orgeron following the 2021 season.

Fisher, who finishes his time in College Station with a 45-25 record, inked a new four-year extension in 2021 that raised his annual salary from $7.5 million to $9 million and pushed his contract through 2031. Fisher never won more than nine games during tenure, or led A&M to a conference championship appearance.

"The assessment that I delivered was that we are not reaching our full potential," Texas A&M athletic director Ross Bjork said at a news conference Sunday evening. "We are not in the championship conversation and something was not quite right about our direction and the plan.

"We should be relevant on the national scene."

Co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach Elijah Robinson will take over as interim coach for the remainder of the regular season and A&M's bowl game. Both coordinators Bobby Petrino and D.J. Durkin will stay on staff through the remainder of the regular season.

A&M hosts ACU at Kyle Field for an 11 a.m. kick on SEC Network+/ESPN+ this Saturday. LSU takes on Georgia State at Tiger Stadium at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
