The Aggies football program recently got a shot in the arm with the commitment of five-star athlete Terry Bussey. He was one of the most dynamic players in the country in four seasons at Timpson (TX) High School and chose A&M over a heavy recruitment from LSU.

When you have a player with Bussey's athleticism, talent and ability, new Aggies coach Mike Elko knows it's important to utilize him as often as possible on the field - and that could mean offense, defense and special teams.

“Both ways all of the time is hard, but when you have a kid that’s as dynamic as he is, you have to find ways for him to impact the football game,” Elko said. “Some of that will be in the return game, in spot ways on offense, and we anticipate a lot of that being on defense.

“For us, he’s going to come in at corner, but he’ll certainly have a role with the ball in his hand in the return game and as a specialist in some situations.”

Bussey tallied 1,342 yards from scrimmage and 169 touchdowns on offense, as well as 270 tackles, 24 interceptions with four pick-6s, and two forced fumbles on defense, and five touchdowns on special teams.

Bussey is the No. 11 overall player and No. 1 athlete in the nation, has been committed to the Aggies since September, and is the biggest score of the 2024 cycle for Elko.
