WATCH: Texas A&M Aggies Use Johnson to Johnson Connection to Pull Within 1 Score of Ole Miss Rebels
When the Texas A&M Aggies needed it most, their brotherly connection came in clutch.
After a chance to take the lead — the Ole Miss Rebels missed a two-point conversion the drive prior — presented itself in the form of a first-and-goal from the five-yard line, coach Jimbo Fisher and company had all of the momentum in their favor.
Up to that point, the Rebels had controlled the game. They got out to a quick 14-0 lead, and had it not been for an unbelievable blocked field goal returned for a touchdown, the Aggies might have found themselves down three scores.
Instead, they drove down the field in 11 plays, looking to take their first lead of the game, but were stopped in their tracks. Max Johnson threw an interception and the Rebels turned around and scored another touchdown to go back up by 14.
But Johnson wasn't done yet ... and neither was his brother.
Down two scores, the Aggies needed a quick score, and that they got. It only took five plays, but spanned 75 yards and ended in a 28-yard brother-to-brother touchdown.
Johnson found Jake Johnson near the left sideline after rolling out and let the tight end do the rest. Johnson crossed the goal line, pointed his finger to the sky and celebrated with his teammates.
Suddenly, the Aggies were back within one score and proved they weren't out of the game, even in a hostile Rebels environment. And considering the magnitude of facing a top-10 team on the road while being unranked, it was exactly what they needed.
