The 2023 college football season is almost upon us with just 21 days before the Texas A&M Aggies host the New Mexico Lobos at Kyle Field on Sept. 2.

The Aggies hope to rebound from a miserable 5-7 overall record a season ago and from winning just two games in SEC play. The roster is full of talent and coach Jimbo Fisher has made some changes to the offense that was nothing short of anemic in 2022. With a new offensive coordinator in Bobby Petrino and second-year quarterback Conner Weigman expected to carry the load, expectations are high for the upcoming season.

CBS Sports attempted to predict the end-of-season bowl games ahead of the season. From the early bowl games to the College Football Playoff semifinals, as impossible as it seems, CBS Sports attempts to pull it off.

As the Aggies enter the new season, CBS Sports looks into its crystal ball and sees the Aggies entertaining the Iowa Hawkeyes in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year's Day 2024 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Last season the Mississippi State Bulldogs beat the Illinois Fighting Illini 19-10 in the former Outback Bowl. The game was rebranded to the ReliaQuest Bowl in 2022.

The bowl game traditionally features teams from the ACC, SEC, or Big Ten. If the matchup prediction comes true, it will be just the second time the two programs have met after a 29-0 win by A&M in 1931 at a neutral site game in Dallas.
